is based in Ashbourne Co Meath.
Brian Carroll (Bing) 5th Dan started practicing Karate in 1980…He won most National Titles during his years competing.
He represented Ireland many times and the highlight was when Bing competed for Ireland at the 1986 ESKA European Championships in Sunderland winning 2 Bronze Medals.
Bing opened LARKHILL KARATE CLUB in Santry 8 yrs ago and now has 120 members + a waiting list!.
Larkhill won Top Prize in the DUBLIN BUS NATIONAL COMMUNITY AWARDS in September 2011.
Coach Bing Carroll started his Coaching Road in 2006.. Introduction To Martial Arts Coaching completing Level 1 in 2008 and went on to complete Level 2.
Bing works as a FREELANCE SPORTS COACH with clients such as DUBLIN CITY COUNCIL, THE HSE & ST. MICHAELS HOUSE..
He runs sports programs for The Youth at Risk, Special Needs & Mainstream kids / adults… Also runs SELF DEFENSE programs for ladies, KARATECIZE for teens (Karate to Music) to name a few.
Bing went on to establish Karate Ash . The first class started in the Ashbourne Hotel with one student and has since grown to be a very successful club for the local Ashbourne Community.
The club caters from kids aged 4 years old right up to Adults.
Karate Ash welcomes a diversity of people, talents & experiences. We train in a safe & controlled environment with emphasis on health, fitness, personal development, & of course FUN.
Karate Ash Shotokan Karate Club focus on all aspects of Karate (i.e.) Fundamental movement for kids, Kihon (basics), Kata , Kumite (competition style free fighting) right up to Traditional Okinawan Karate(Life Protection).
Our Opening Times are Training Times
5pm to 5.45pm 4 to 5 year Olds (Lions).
6pm to 6.45pm, 6 to 8 year Olds (Dragons).
7pm to 8pm 9 years to Teens ( Intermediate/White to Green Belt (under 9 years Green Stripe/Blue Stripe & Blue Belt should train in this class )
Adults (15 years and up) 8pm to 9:15pm
Ripples (Special Needs) 5pm to 5.45pm.
Sport Karate: up to 8 year Olds 6pm to 6.45pm.
9yo to Teens, 6,45pm to 7.45m.
Adults (15 years and up) 7.45pm to 9.15pm
6.30pm to 7.30pm 9 years to Teens Advanced Traditional Shotokan Karate (purple Belt and above)
Kata Sunday on average once or twice per month… Heian Kata at 10 am, Advanced Kata at 11 am.
The style practiced at this club is Shotokan Karate.
